How can you not like a guy like “Rampage” Jackson? Not only did the guy hype his main event UFC 130 fight by putting up the proverbial bunny ears behind opponent Matt Hamill, but he told the press that he plans on retiring – maybe – at age 35 to take up finger painting. Rampage also admitted he was lazy; that he misses his abs because he’s been unable to stay in shape between fights and that he hopes to open up a gym down the street from his house to ensure he doesn’t miss workouts – one that he’ll drive to.
While hard at work, making last-minute adjustments to my camera, several photographers behind me were taking advantage of a spotlight that happened to fall on my poor, bald dome to make hand shadows. Thanks Paul, Ray and the rest of you bozos. Photo by Paul Hernandez.
There may be no one to compare with Manny Pacquiao, but on the local Las Vegas scene, no one has been able to rally a local crowd like the Magdalenos. Last night at the Mandalay Bay, Diego Magdaleno (19-0, 6 KOs) won by third round TKO over Gilberto Sanchez Leon (31-9-2, 11 KOs). On the undercard, Diego’s younger brother, Jesse (4-0, 2 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Jonathan Alcantara (4-4-2, 0 KOs). Stay tuned for full photo gallery.
I’m pretty sure there were four “Sugar” Shane Mosley fans in the horde of half a thousand fans who packed the main lobby at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Actually, I’m positive there were four, because I counted ’em. The rest? Manic Manny Pacquiao fans. Call me spoiled, but since Ricardo Mayorga gave the so-called grand arrivals a departure from the norm, by stalking and glaring at Miguel Cotto, it’s been tough to shoot ’em.
Is it my imagination or does Manny Pacquiao have really long fingers?
